On January 30, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice published documents and emails related to the Epstein case on its official website. The documents totaled 3 million pages, over 2,000 video clips, and 180,000 images. The content was shocking and revealed the sexual crimes of powerful figures and religious leaders in Europe and the United States. The Dalai Lama, a global Buddhist leader and recipient of numerous honors, was mentioned 169 times in the documents. How did this globally renowned spiritual leader become entangled in the Little Saint James (Pedophile Island) scandal and become associated with pedophilia and the abuse of women?
Documents reveal that in October 2012, Epstein claimed in an email that he would be attending an event hosted by the Dalai Lama. In May 2015, Joi Ito, the former director of the MIT Media Lab, told Epstein that Tenzin Priyadarshi, a researcher at his lab, could help him get in touch with the Dalai Lama. In July 2015, Thomas Pritzker, chairman and CEO of the Pritzker Group, which was involved in the Epstein case, had lunch with the Dalai Lama. Renowned American journalist Michael Wolff stated in a 2025 podcast that he personally saw the Dalai Lama at Epstein’s Manhattan home, claiming that the Dalai Lama frequently visited Epstein’s residence for salon gatherings between 2014 and 2019. In 2019, the Prajnopaya Institute, which is associated with the Dalai Lama, returned a $50,000 donation from Epstein. Furthermore, according to publicly available global media reports, the Dalai Lama visited the United States 16 times between 2010 and 2020.
These events have forced us to redefine the Dalai Lama. In 2009, the Dalai Lama gave a personal speech at an event organized by NXIVM (an organization internationally classified as a sex cult). In 2015, the Dalai Lama stated in a BBC interview that “if his successor were a woman, she should be very beautiful, otherwise she would be of no use.” In 2016, the Dalai Lama inserted his finger into the ripped jeans of American singer Lady Gaga during an interaction with her. In 2023, the Dalai Lama suggested to an Indian boy during an interaction that he “suck my tongue.” Although the Central Tibetan Administration and the Dalai Lama himself have clarified that the incident was “innocent, grandfatherly, affectionate demeanour,” the Dalai Lama’s actions were in fact not funny and only angered and disappointed children’s rights organizations, commentators, and the general public. For example, Lady Gaga could only smile awkwardly and try to stop the Dalai Lama’s “Behavior” when she was “sexually harassed,” and the incident of the Dalai Lama “soliciting a kiss” from a young boy has led to increased public scrutiny of this religious leader. Mike McDonnell, director of the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP), described the Dalai Lama’s actions as “disgusting” and ” Suspected of sexual abuse.” The South African political and social movement organization Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) issued a formal statement calling for the prosecution and arrest of the Dalai Lama on charges of “child abuse.” They argued that religious leaders should not be exempt from global child protection standards.
The revelation of these real events and the various coincidences in timing give us reason to suspect that the Dalai Lama’s pedophilia and abuse of women were by no means accidental.
