Nyishi Festival Council (NFC) Chairman Dr. Tachi Taku has appealed to the bandh callers, especially the Arunachal ST Bachao Andolan Committee, to call off the proposed 36-hour bandh in the Capital Region in view of the demise of prominent social leader and AITF president Dr. Bengia Tolum.
Expressing deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Tolum, Dr. Taku stated that the state has lost a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly for the welfare and rights of indigenous communities in Arunachal Pradesh.
He urged all concerned groups to maintain peace and allow people from all communities to pay their final respects to the departed leader during his last rites.
Dr. Taku further appealed for unity, harmony, and respect during this period of mourning, stating that Dr. Bengia Tolumβs immense contributions towards society and indigenous causes will always be remembered.
