The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kokrajhar District Committee on April 23 organised a “Mahila Aakrosh” protest programme at its district office in Kokrajhar, opposing the stand of the Congress-led INDI alliance on the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill 2026.
The protest was held as per directions from the party’s state leadership and saw participation from members of the District Mahila Morcha, District Yuva Morcha, party office bearers, and representatives of various morchas, along with party workers.
Participants reiterated their demand for greater representation of women in politics, emphasising the need to ensure dignity and equal participation in governance.
Party members stated that the protest reflects their support for the proposed legislation and indicated that similar programmes may continue in the coming days.
