Manipur Deputy CM, Saitu MLA condemn Loibol killings, demand swift action against perpetrators

Jun 5, 2026

Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen condemned the killing of three civilians and destruction of houses in Loibol village. They sought swift action against the perpetrators, stronger security and immediate relief for affected families.

The killing of three civilians and the destruction of houses in Loibol village under New Keithelmanbi in Kangpokpi district has drawn strong condemnation from Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen, who have called for immediate action against those responsible.

Expressing deep anguish over the incident, Nemcha Kipgen described the deaths of Letkhongam Haokip, Tinmary Haokip and Jangminlal Haokip as a heartbreaking tragedy that has left the community in grief and sorrow.

“I am deeply saddened and anguished by the tragic loss of three innocent lives, including a woman, in the unfortunate incident that occurred at Loibol village under New Keithelmanbi in Kangpokpi district,” the Deputy Chief Minister said in a statement.

She strongly condemned all forms of violence targeting innocent civilians, stating that such incidents deepen the suffering of people and undermine efforts to build a peaceful and secure future. Nemcha Kipgen also extended her condolences to the bereaved families and assured that the government remains committed to ensuring the rule of law and protecting the lives and security of citizens.

Meanwhile, Haokholet Kipgen strongly condemned what he described as a brutal attack on Loibol Khullen village, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction of homes and property.

“The targeting of innocent civilians and the destruction of their homes and livelihoods are unacceptable and deserve the strongest condemnation,” the legislator said.

Calling the attack a barbaric act with no place in society, the MLA demanded that those responsible be identified and brought to justice without delay.

He also urged Central forces, state security agencies and the Government of India to take immediate and decisive measures to restore security in the area, protect vulnerable villages and prevent further attacks. Additionally, he called for immediate relief and rehabilitation assistance for affected families who have suffered significant losses.

The statements come amid growing concern over the security situation in parts of Kangpokpi district following the deadly attack, which claimed three civilian lives and left several houses damaged or destroyed. Local residents have also demanded enhanced security deployment and swift justice for the victims.

Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.

  1. Started this morning and finished at lunch with a small sense of having spent the time well, and a look at steamsurge extended that satisfaction into the afternoon, content that fits naturally into the rhythm of a working day rather than demanding a dedicated reading block is increasingly the kind I prefer.

  3. Better than most of the writing I have come across on this topic recently, simpler and more direct, and a look at learnsomethinguseful continued in that same way, a real outlier in a crowded space full of repetitive content that says little while taking up a lot of reader time today which is unfortunate.

Anyone curious about this topic would do well to start here, the foundation laid is solid, and a stop at jadkix would round out their understanding nicely, this is the kind of resource I would point a friend toward without hesitation if they asked me where to begin learning about anything in this area.

  5. Now adding this to a list of sites I want to see flourish, and a stop at biabrook reinforced that wish, the few sites I actively root for are sites that produce the kind of work I want more of in the world and this one has joined that small list based on what I have read so far.

  6. Glad to find something on this topic that does not start with three paragraphs of throat clearing before getting to the point, and a stop at jadyam also dives right in, respect for the readers time shows up in small editorial choices like this and they add up to a real difference quickly.

  7. Reading this in a moment of low energy still kept my attention, and a stop at biabrook continued that engagement under suboptimal conditions, content that survives the reader being tired is content with extra reserves of pull and this site has the kind of writing that holds up even when I am not at my reading best.

  8. Solid quality, the kind of work that holds up to a careful read rather than a quick skim, and a quick look at jalaxis kept that standard going strong, content that rewards attention rather than punishing it is something I appreciate more and more these days online across nearly every topic I follow.

Walked away with a clearer head than I had before reading this, and a quick visit to biabrook only sharpened that, the writing has a way of cutting through the noise that surrounds most topics online which is something I will definitely remember the next time I am searching for an answer to anything.
