Two suspected Bangladeshi smugglers were killed in firing by the Border Security Force near the zero point of the Kamalasagar–Pathariyadwar border in Tripura’s Sepahijala district, officials said on May 9.
According to initial reports, the incident took place along the international border when BSF personnel allegedly opened fire during an anti-smuggling operation. The circumstances leading to the firing are yet to be officially detailed.
The injured individuals were immediately taken to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared both of them dead.
The deceased have been identified as Md. Mursalin (20), a resident of Batenbari village in Bangladesh, and Nabi Hossain (40), a resident of Madhupur village in Bangladesh.
